The Executive Search Process
Our approach to executive search ensures a successful outcome for both client and candidate. We follow a rigorous process in which we immerse ourselves in understanding the unique needs and challenges of the business, identifying only the most qualified candidates who have the skillset, competencies and mind-set to succeed in both the role and your organisation.
Here's what the process typically looks like:
Step 1: Briefing
It's important we dedicate time at the beginning of the Executive Search process to truly understand the needs of your organisation and the qualities the successful candidate must possess. The process will therefore begin with a full briefing session involving all stakeholders to define and agree on the parameters of the search and process to build a profile of your ideal candidate. These parameters will include a full role profile, functional and behavioural competencies, geography, target companies, any off limits, the timeline, process and your employee value proposition, in order to take a clear and exciting message to this talent pool.
Step 2: Research
Once we’re clear on the scope of the search and your requirements, we'll essentially cast a net over the talent pool via multiple research tools and within our extensive existing network, identifying every candidate across the desired geographical location who has the right skill set and experience to meet your criteria.
Step 3: Approaching
We'll then systematically and professionally approach these candidates using multiple effective methods identified during our decades' long experience in the Executive Search industry. This will include direct, professional headhunting, seeking to gain as much interest in your opportunity as possible from the people who meet your outlined criteria. At the same time, we can collect various insights, such as salaries, benefits, bonuses, even perception of you in the market.
Step 4: Steering meetings
We pride ourselves on the transparency of our partnerships and therefore will regularly share the progress of our search with you. If we do encounter challenges during the process, we will communicate these and work with you to re-steer the search accordingly.
Step 5: Longlist
At this point in the process, we will have curated an extensive list of candidates who have been assessed successfully against the brief, both functionally and behaviourally, and who have confirmed interest in the opportunity.
Step 6: Shortlist
From this longlist, we will work with you to jointly agree a shortlist of 3 - 5 candidates for you to progress to interview stage.
Step 7: Conclusion and Hire
At the end of the process, you will be absolutely confident you are making your hire from the best talent available to you in the market, at this time. Our commitment to you does not end there, as we offer assistance with the offer and onboarding process, keeping in touch with both parties to ensure a smooth transition. Ensuring a long term, successful partnership is of paramount importance to us, and something we pride ourselves on at Lincoln Cornhill.
